Under His Wings: Finding Refuge in Psalm 91:11

Psalm 91:11

“He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”

Life can often be challenging and stressful, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by everything that’s happening around us. Whether it’s news of global conflicts, personal struggles or daily stresses at work and home, our lives are rarely free of worry or fear. With all of the chaos and turmoil, finding a place of safety can be difficult.

The good news is that there is always hope, no matter what we’re going through. God offers us refuge from the worries and fears that weigh us down. In Psalm 91:11, we read about how God sends His angels to watch over us:

“He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”

Finding Refuge Under His Wings

In Psalm 91:4-5, we read:

“He shall cover You with His feathers, And under His wings You shall take refuge; His truth shall be Your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night…”

This beautiful verse reminds us that God is our protector. Just as a bird covers its offspring under its wings for protection from threats like wind or rainstorms; so too does God provide shelter for those looking for refuge.

When faced with life’s struggles – whether it’s illness or loss – it can seem impossible to find peace in the midst of turmoil. However, Psalm 91 offers comfort during these times because it reminds believers that they are not alone but have a heavenly Father who cares deeply about their struggles.

The Power of Prayer

An important part of taking refuge in Psalm 91 lies within prayer. When we pray to God with open hearts, asking for guidance and protection during times of distress, we can connect with the divine and feel empowered.

It’s important to remember that prayer is a two-way conversation. By taking the time to listen for His voice, we can hear what God has in store for us when seeking refuge under his wings.

Trusting In His Plan

In addition to providing refuge and protection, Psalm 91 reminds us that God has a plan for each of our lives. This plan may be difficult at times but is full of purpose and ultimately leads to our spiritual growth.

Psalm 91:15 teaches us:

“He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor Him.”

This verse reminds us that even in difficult times like illnesses or financial struggles – God hears our prayers and promises to walk with us every step of the way.

Giving Thanks

In Psalm 100:4-5 we read:

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving And into his courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him And bless His name…”

Giving thanks during tough times may seem counterintuitive but it helps remind believers that they are not alone in their struggles. Even if life isn’t going as planned or everything seems like it’s falling apart – there is always something to be grateful for.

Giving thanks allows believers find joy even amidst hardship because it reminds them how much blessings they have already received from god’s abundance.

These verses along serve as a reminder “that he can never leave me nor forsake me” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Conclusion

In conclusion, Psalm 91 serves as a powerful reminder of God’s love and the refuge that is available to us in the midst of life’s many challenges. No matter what we’re going through, we can always find shelter under His wings. As believers, it’s important to trust in His plan for our lives, knowing that He will always be with us through good times and bad.

By staying prayerful and giving thanks even during difficult times, believers can connect with God on a deeper level and draw strength from His grace.

With these promises from the bible Jesus reminds every one of his followers saying “Come to me all who labor heavy laden; Find rest under my wings” (Matthew 11:28). And further confirmation comes from what David writes “In peace I lie down and at once fall asleep; For You alone Yahweh make me dwell confident.”(Psalm 4:8)
