Unburden Your Soul: Finding Peace in Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
The Struggle of the Soul
How often do we find ourselves weighed down by our troubles and worries? It’s a feeling that can be all-consuming and leave us feeling lost and alone. We try to carry the weight of our problems on our own, but the burden is too heavy. Our souls are crying out for relief, but where can we turn?
As Christians, we have been given a gift that can help us unburden our souls and find peace. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
It’s easy to get caught up in anxiety about the things happening around us. The world seems to be an increasingly turbulent place with negative news constantly bombarding us from every direction. We also have plenty of personal struggles that threaten to weigh us down as well – sicknesses, job loss or instability; conflicts with family members or friends; financial difficulties; feelings of loneliness or depression.
In times like these when burdens seem overwhelming even though external realities may contribute significantly negatively affect your mood & motivation levels it’s important for you first seek relaxation techniques like deep breathing while maintaining Social distancing amidst COVID-19 pandemic then pray if possible per time which could go thus:
“Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before You today burdened by my troubles.
I lay them before You now knowing You see everything clearly,
and hears them all even without breathe them out.
Please help me in the midst of my difficulties,
grant me strength and peace to overcome my struggle
for i know that you are capable of giving more than what i ask for, according to your word in the Bible.
Please bless me as I hear from you today calmness to fuel my soul midst trials & temptations.
In Jesus name, Amen.
The Blessing of Prayer
When we are feeling anxious or overburdened, it can be hard to see a way out. The troubles may seem too big or complex for us to solve on our own. But when we turn to God in prayer, it’s like taking that heavy burden off our shoulders and placing it at His feet. He hears us when we pray and is eager to help us through whatever problems we are facing.
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us that prayer is one of the ways we can unburden our souls and find peace. By coming before God with an attitude of thanksgiving even when surrounded by chaos shows how matured a believer can get over situations just as everything happening around currently called recession Globally amidst corona-virus(COVID-19) pandemic; gratitude keeps reader acknowledging potential blessings embedded within negative circumstances thereby differentiating him/her from others who takes things (Good or Bad) they receive daily for granted.
Giving thanks doesn’t mean glossing over struggles but choosing not focusing completely on difficult situations giving room instead for optimism like cantering physically challenged athletes who against odds runs faster using crutch because they have learnt how not-to-negate-potential-blessings-in-situations along their life journey(smiling).
Regularly acknowledging what brings satisfaction & joy creates loops in ones world consciously or unconsciously for receiving more of those things because like attract likes according to law of attraction, hence practicing sharing good stories amidst family & friends creates positive soup which they would willingly crave for happily making you their folk sooner or later.
Summary:
Unburdening your soul is important; it’s not something we should put off until tomorrow. Prayer and living in thankfulness are two powerful tools we have to help us find peace and relief from our struggles. When we acknowledge our worries, cast cares, leave them rightly at His feet and pray for strength, God reassures us that he sees us and He’s ready to assist always but giving thanks always makes it seem God expedite the response.
The Power of Peace
Philippians 4:7 reminds us that the peace of God transcends all understanding. This means that even when we are in situations where there seems to be chaos all around us (like with this pandemic currently ravaging the world), if we can stay connected with Him like you’re doing now by taking slow breathe calmly reading through, bring out inner fears then surrendering them completely letting Him take control peace would creep back-into your soul naturally giving you unexplainable joy putting a smile on your face.
This PEACE is an indication of God’s presence as well as trustworthiness – conviction He will never leave nor forsake partially especially when He has authorized Solomon make such a fortification in His promises in Deut 31:6 “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified because of various circumstances gainst thee[AIDS/PANDEMIC],for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”.
This PEACE helps knowing everything wouldn’t just work together but thanks-giving triggers solutions making dross(worst aspect) procedural step improving progressively leading to turn-about or perfection in life which every believer crave (smiling).
