Transcendental Meditation (TM) — Here is a step-by-step explanation of the entire practice, including mantras.

In 1999, when I was 23 years old, I began practicing Transcendental Meditation. My home city’s official center was where I studied. Practicing meditation with a group in the center each evening was a pleasant experience; my professor was a wonderful American woman who was patient, polite, and sensitive. Since then, I’ve been using this method for about two decades.
What is the history of the Transcendental Meditation method?
- After being established by Indian guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the 1950s, the Transcendental Meditation technique became popular in the West in the 1960s (i.e. California).
- During the Beatles’ time in India, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was the teacher the group sought out for help with spiritual practice and the development of consciousness.
- It is based on meditating silently while repeating a mantra in your head and gradually concentrating on it.
- Paying for one-on-one instruction from a Maharishi college-educated teacher at a local Transcendental Meditation facility is a good option if you want to learn the technique correctly.

Lets dive right in:
- Make sure you’re not going to be interrupted for twenty-five minutes or so by phone calls or other distractions. Having a timer or a clock handy is essential.
- Sit calmly, feet flat on the floor, eyes closed. Make sure you’re comfy with your hands resting on your lap.
- It’s more of a sound than a word: “Shiring,” the mantra. “Shi” and “Ring” are the most common two syllables. Allow the chant to slowly but surely enter your thoughts.
- Without making an attempt, mentally recite the phrase. Permit it to come and go as it pleases in your imagination.
- Gently return your focus back on the chant if you find that you’ve strayed off.
- Do not resist or judge any tough ideas or feelings that may occur. Simply let them go and return to the mantra in your mind.
- Keep going for another twenty minutes in this manner. Wait until your timer informs you that twenty minutes have elapsed before checking your watch or clock.
- Before returning to the world by opening your eyes, sit quietly for two minutes without repeating the mantra in your head for twenty minutes.
It’s important that you enjoy, relax, and enjoy yourself when you’re meditating. It’s possible that you’re trying too hard if this is the case. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and let go.
- TM is often done twice a day for twenty minutes, although it is also helpful to practice it once or twice a day.

Make it a habit for the next week to observe everything catches your attention, anything that attracts you – no matter how silly or unimportant it may be. You might give your tiny book a title such as “What intrigues me.”
Then, start getting in the habit of observing what catches your attention–especially if it is something that you would ordinarily tell yourself to ignore. If it intrigues you, write it down, along with anything that you enjoy about it.
If you don’t enjoy writing, you can draw. If you don’t enjoy sketching, you may utilize the voice recording option on your phone. Find your own technique to make a note of what screams out to you.
Play about a little and have fun.
Treat this like a game.
In whichever approach works for you, start to observe what ignites your curiosity and what you appreciate about it. It might be a book title that jumps off the shelf at you, a sentence you overhear, a weird person who goes by, something an animal is doing, how the sky appears, a feeling in your body, a memory or inspiration that comes out of nowhere.
Pay attention to what intrigues and excites you. Suddenly life looks more interesting and full with adventure the more you do.
After a while, observe if you detect reoccurring themes. Or, maybe you’ll remember how you used to adore something, but have since forgotten about it.
Whatever occurs, I think you’ll find yourself more clued into your Core Energy and what makes you feel alive. Those signals of life, curiosity, and intrigue are the clues to your inner passion and purpose and the energy that produces worlds.

Suddenly, Sem launched yet another unprovoked assault, this time fatally stabbing Levi Butler to death.
Forensic examinations revealed that Sem had previously been treated for paranoid schizophrenia with antipsychotic medication, but had stopped taking the medicine some weeks before to his arrival at MUM.
