Have you ever experienced a time in your relationship when everything seemed to be falling apart? When no matter how hard you tried, it just felt like things were slipping away from your grasp?
That was exactly how I felt when my boyfriend and I hit a rocky patch in our relationship. We had been together for over 3 years and things were going great until we started facing one challenge after another. Our communication broke down, we stopped spending quality time together, and misunderstandings kept popping up – it seemed like the love that once bound us was fading away.
I was heartbroken but not defeated. As someone who has always leaned on her faith through difficult times, I knew there had to be something more significant at work here – that’s where grace came into play.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
The Gift of Grace
Grace is often described as God’s unmerited favor towards us–a free gift of love bestowed upon humanity.It’s his benevolence sneaking up on us almost unnoticed before infiltrating every aspect of our lives–even into the realms where we once thought all hope was lost.
The moment I started reflecting deeply about this subject,I found myself wondering why would God go above and beyond to help sinners such as ourselves? Why would He decide to wipe away all our transgressions just so He could establish communion with us?
This selfless act amplifies God’s divine purpose of bringing His people back to Him. To spread the good news of Christ and his love. It’s in those moments of weakness, doubt, and insecurity that grace gently creeps up alongside your journey to help restore you to a better version of yourself.
God’s Restorative Touch on Our Relationship
As I found myself pondering more about grace, I decided that praying for restoration was my best course of action. It was the realization that there was nothing I could have done alone to save our relationship that opened me up entirely through total humility and acceptance; only God could intervene.
I started focusing more on my faith—praying constantly for guidance and direction in our relationship–communicated more effectively with my boyfriend, actively listened when he spoke,and seriously worked towards mutual understanding.I made a choice then just as David sung it best,
“The Lord is near to all who call upon him,to all who call upon him in truth.” – Psalms 145:18
I’m convinced beyond doubt today as ever before; it was by God’s grace we rebuilt what was broken between us. Through prayer and concerted efforts towards reconnecting with each other not just physically but emotionally(through well-thought-out conversations) we were able to open bolted doors towards finding lost love.
A Prayer for Restoration
If you’re going through an arduous phase as well today like I did months ago – hold tight onto hope. Trust completely on the strength promised through Grace.It’ has saved many before you guys brought together once again by Love so deep than Hate can’t penetrate(hopefully)
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13
