Addiction is a disease that plagues millions of people around the world, affecting people from all walks of life. It has been described as a hopeless condition, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Recovery is possible for everyone struggling with addiction. However, recovery requires more than just physical treatment – it requires spiritual healing too.
Prayer has been proven to be a powerful tool for many addicts on the road to recovery. It can help bring peace and comfort during difficult times and offer guidance when seeking purpose in life.

Recovery involves an ongoing process of rebuilding oneself physically, mentally and spiritually after experiencing pain or trauma caused by addiction. Prayer can help individuals build their spiritual foundation by strengthening their faith as they turn to God during hard times.
As individuals begin their journey towards sobriety through prayer, they may experience newfound hope and confidence with each passing day.
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” – James 5:16
Prayer can also provide comfort when faced with tempting situations or stressors that could lead back into addiction behaviours without proper mindfulness put into practice continuously every day.
The Bible tells us that “…the prayer of a righteous man is powerful” (James 5:16). Therefore it’s important that we recognize how beneficial prayer can be not only for ourselves but our loved ones and entire communities that suffer from addiction.
