Mindful Living – How to Wake Up and Be Grateful

Each time you wake up you can be grateful. You do not need expensive books or books on downloads to become grateful upon waking. It is simple to wake up and be grateful. You do not need to keep a journal in order to wake up grateful.

Many bookstores carry an extensive line of self help books that attempt to help you wake up and have a good day. You can wake up and be grateful without spending any money at all. The only thing you have to do is follow a few simple steps to get started. Once you have begun waking up and being grateful you will automatically find your own, unique ways to continue to feel grateful as you wake up.

Instructions

Step 1 Prepare to wake up grateful by telling your self the night before that you will be grateful when you wake up

Step 2 Say “I will wake up grateful” out loud just before you go to sleep.

Step 3 The moment you awake say “I am grateful” out loud. You may say it quietly if you do not want to disturb someone else’s sleep. If you are alone then you can choose to say it loudly or not.

Step 4 Do not move from your bed until you have said “I am grateful”. If you forget then go back to your bed and lie down and say “I am grateful”.

Step 5 Ignore all other thoughts until you have said this

Make sure that you prepare to be grateful when you wake up by telling your self the night before that you will be. Say it out loud even if it is a whisper because this makes it real. You will need to practice but do not deviate from this routine. In time you will automatically prepare for being grateful each night and each morning when you wake up.
