I am the first one to admit, I have made some serious mistakes in business. While I am not a business coach or a guru at how to make money, I am a work at home mother who does not want to see others make the same mistakes I have. The main lesson I learned on my journey is that I needed to connect to mindful business solutions for my business.

Here are just a few:

The first thing you need to do is find a business that works for you. Maybe you are a direct sales type of person. If so research companies that you are interested in and see which the best fit for you. Maybe you want to be an internet marketer, day care owner or crafter or perhaps you desire to start a business from the ground up. Whatever business you want to do, make sure it is a good fit for you.

Consider what it entails, your time restraints, your budget, and who you have to support you. If you have a family then you need to consider them as you move forward and make your decision. If it is a passion you want to pursue as a business, think about whether or not it is profitable passion. I know a great deal about this area, because I took a passion and tried to make a dollar with it. It did not work!

Ask yourself if you are committed to what needs to be done. Also consider whether or not this is just a whim. There are many who start a business with big dreams but no true drive or even a plan of action. Not a good idea.

Another smart solution is a Business Plan. You cannot have a solution if you don’t have a start. You need to develop a plan that works for you.

Some people use the long version of a business plan while others, like me, use a much shorter version. I know that I will not take the time to create a long plan, but I will do a short three or four page one. With my schedule I had to have something simple yet effective to work with. So I found a three page plan one day while surfing the net. It is awesome and has really helped me to maintain focus. So be sure you have a business plan. Even if you have been in business for some time and feel you don’t need a business plan…GET ONE NOW!

The next part of mindful business solutions is finding resources to help you succeed. We all need some assistance and something we can rely on to help us have successful businesses. Developing a list of resources or having one main source to help you find valuable resources is so important.

I honestly do now know where I would be without my resources. Resources are like a map; you need them to get around so that you do not get lost. If you have good resources, then you will always be able to get to your destination.

Believe it or not, another solution is to do what works best for you. There is a great deal of information out there to help you have a successful business, but is it impossible for you to get a hold of all of it and be good at utilizing them for the benefit of your chosen business. Find the programs, software, network groups, business guru sites, etc. that work for you. At one time I had so much going on that I was driving myself mad and was not producing for my business. Now that I have cleaned out my tool box and kept what was advantageous for my business, I am building on a much more solid foundation.

Be intelligent as you make your choice for the business that fits you. Please don’t do something that you will later regret. We all make mistakes, but some can be avoided with a little planning and forethought.
